Poker Etiquette: Call to Respect
In a game where reputation counts there is much to give in. such as in a game of poker, it has a reputation of a game associated to drinking, lying (bluffing), swearing and smoking, and of course gambling. It is quite difficult to believe that this game do follow certain ethics and mores that you need to follow as a poker player. Just like any social activity, poker requires every player to follow the basic tenets of order and courtesy to be able to have a peaceful poker game.
When you are seated at a poker table, never ever offer an advice to your opponent's. For you it may sound helpful, but in the rule book, it is improper and rude. It is good to refrain making comments, suggestions, opinions and among other thing. On the flip side, you should not ask any advice from your opponent as well, whether they already made a fold or not.
Mostly, when all cards are already dealt, you will immediately know what are the actions that you need to take in. for instance, if you happen to get two aces, of course you will stay in at least. On the other hand, if you happen to get two to seven unsuited, you are expected to make a fold, not unless you decide to make a bluff out of it. Regardless of the situation you're in, it is important that you wait first for your turn before making another decision.
Raining, checking, folding and checking exposes a lot of information to your opponents at the poker table and this may come is a very awful manner. Players who have already acted before they made their premature move loses out using an extra knowledge in thinking of how they will act on a given situation. While a player who acts after you make yours gets the good benefit based on their intelligent decision. Making a act when it's not your turn is definitely more than what clumsy is defined, it is practically downright and unfair. It will just turn you into a fish just before you can utter "all in."
Poker etiquette involves treating people the right way. This may be more applicable in live poker games, but you can also apply it online. Most online poker sites do have chat forums where players from all corners of the world. When you join chat forums, you are not allowed to speak foul words such as calling weak players "loser" all sorts of that. It is very improper and inhuman. Online poker values the code of respect, that is why is you want to be respected, learn to respect your opponent's even if they are better players than you are.
